Food For Whippets

Hi everybody. Could you please advise on food for whippets. I have always kept German Shepherds (and still do), which I have always fed raw meat and bones such as chicken wings, turkey necks, and breast of lamb bones. They have other raw food such as veges live yoghurt offal and some supplements. Is this diet suitable for Whippets as I am not a lover of dried dog food.

Raw meat/Veg is perfect for a whippet, you dog will thrive on it.

Sounds good to me! My Whippets have the same sort of diet as I am also not a lover of complete feeds. I only use complete Greyhound food as a mixer on the days they have tripe as a change to biscuit and to boost their protein intake.

My two whippets live on the BARF diet with no ill effects and I race them both. Some contributers to this forum have other views but both of my whippets and my wife's tibetan terrier enjoy chicken wings and carcasses plus breast and neck of lamb plus raw minced veg and offal etc.

Yep, sounds a great diet to me! I could never feed a dog a processed dog food every day - what a sad life for them I hate the way it expands in their stomach to fill them up
