This one is for the blokes really, as I don't expect the ladies on here to understand 'pain'.

Obviously the pain us men suffer is on par (if not greater) than being punched in the face several times by Mike Tyson.

We really do suffer.

Do you have any tricks to get rid of it quicker as i've had it now for a few days.

;)

In all seriousness now, does anyone have any tips to share regarding getting rid of a cold?

Hmmm, there are one or two things I think you should do ;)

In my experience, its a matter of waiting it out and lots of vitamins!!!

hot toddies! Honey, lemon, whiskey, and hot water (and ginger maybe), Repeat till the pain goes away, or you fall asleep. This is no good for mornings (unless you've pulled a full-on sicky), or if you have to work or drive, in which case you have to stick to lemsip :)

hope you're feeling better soon.

keep the fluids up and rest, chicken soup and lucosade did the trick for me

Thanks all, in case you hadn't guessed my original post was tongue in cheek so thank you for taking it in the spirit it was intended. Except Banana who hasn't elaborated on the things I should do! ;)

It's more of a cold than the flu, however this morning I have felt slightly dizzy so it's certainly in my head whatever it is! lol

Can't wait for my day off tomorrow so that I can relax a little :)

Scrap the relaxing the builders have been here half an hour and already drank me dry of tea.

They have also made two holes in the walls to acess piping.

Now got a third builder to sort the back door!

It's all relaxing here! Lol

I used to know a Malaysian chap who was adamant that sucking a bit of ginger at the first sign of a cold/flu would make it go away! Apparently it was something his family had done for generations.

I have three cures to the flu:

1. Mega doses of vitamin C, and I mean mega doses - 10-20 times the RDA

2. My modified Hot Totty, basically a double or tripple whisky, no sugar and no lemon - ok this doesn't cure it but it helps you sleep

3. Go to a packed cinema and watch a film - caring is sharing, and you start to feel better once you pass the flu on.
