We went on a Five Dales walk today which Nicola recommended to us. The morning didn't start too well, we got up and Molly was a bit poorly - runny bums. We didn't want to take her but also didn't want to leave her in the holiday cottage but she's a good girl and knew we could trust her not to chew anything - unlike Lenny! She was happy curled up in her crate with the door open when we left
The weather wasn't too good so we went to an outdoor shop to get John some new boots as he'd forgotten his waterproof ones  By the time we'd finished shopping it had stopped raining! We decided to shorten the walk slightly so we weren't leaving Molly for too long so it ended up a three dales walk rather than five dales (missing out Tansley and Cressbrook) but we still really enjoyed it. The first part of the walk was lovely and sunny, right down to Millers Dale. Unfortunately the path in Water-Cum-Jolly Dale was quite flooded but we couldn't be bothered to turn back to the alternative route so we just waded through. It wasn't any deeper than my shoes, but very muddy! Then there was a big downpour, Lenny was not amused  but after that the sun came out again. I think we were very lucky considering that the forecast was heavy rain all day!
I'll stop waffling now and show you some pictures.
