Well I was celebrating today, the pup got through her heat of the handicap for the first time. :D

Next up was Connors Lass, she was due for a win and duly took the heat :) only for a whopping 34lber to run round the lure and come careering back in straight into Kerri's leg  .

Poor girl looks like she's been in an RTA. Bust the skin open at her elbow and her wrist as well as by her stopper as well as grazed her leg right down from elbow to wrist. All the bruising is starting to come out it's just to keep an eye out now that it doesn't swell up or it looks like a trip to the vet to check it out. :( :(

Just as she was getting back to something like and she takes a blow like this, hopefully she will be OK. Her leg has turned purple and she's very sore, she doesn't want to stand on it at all.

Ironic isn't it that something that is used for the safety of all dogs (muzzle) can also cause so much damage  .

But that's racing I suppose ...

SO sorry to hear that kerry has been hurt fleesh  just as she was racing well too, I hope she soon is well. ;)

 hi fleesh im so sorry to hear about Kerry is that the one who bruised her wrist last week? I hope she is ok for you soon :( Best wishes go to her. sherry x x x

Update as promised to Pat and Susan.

Took the bandage off Kerri to have a look, her shoulder itself is also sore, the bruising coming out well so we put some stuff on to help with that, her leg is one big bruise but thankfully no swelling. We put antiseptic over the grazes and the two big cuts and bound it back up again making sure the top cut is joined together properly, it doesn't need stitching thankfully the last layer of skin is holding.

She's limping like a good un but it is really very very sore, gave her some medicine for the pain much to her disgust. She's had pills to help with the healing plus smarties, meaty chunks, bacon and odd tit-bits to help with the bruised feelings :b .

Orrrh bless her - i hope she's ok Fleesh.

OK so we don't know about this sort of thing ... we were given a little advice at the track but does anyone else have any opinions on it ?

Sorry if anyone gets grossed out by the picture it's the best I could make it look ...

POOR KERRY.......LOOKS LIKE THAT LEG IS GOING TO BE SORE FOR A WHILE FLEESH......

The cuts will probably heal pretty well on their own fleesh but i'd still get her checked out by a vet, with it being a pretty big dog that bashd her it may have knocked something out of place, better to be on the safe side ey.

its worth getting her checked out because you never know what/if any damage has been done.

poor babe.

Sorry to hear your bad news Fleesh I hope that she makes a full recovery and gets back to the track.

I think a vet might be your best bet , as you need to get the swelling down and stop any infection

Well two weeks on and she's back on the track.

Thankfully the wound in the top of the leg is healed well though the one across her wrist looks like it might scar (fingers crossed).

She made it to the handicap final yesterday at Maltby and when racing today at Manton she took home the Neltonian Trophy raced over 200yds on a pre-war handicap (very interesting).

Well done Kerry winning at Manton today. What a comeback after that nasty accident. Hope she has many more wins

Thanks Rocky, she certainly enjoyed herself and I'm glad to say she isn't starving herself any more ... though if we have learn't anything with Kerri it's don't count ur Chickens until they hatched, picked, plucked, and in the cooking pot (and then there's always the chance they'll get burn) lol :- "

:D thats great news about kerri fleesh I hope she wins many more trophies for you. ;)
