Esme caught her first bunny on our walk today. Tess put it up and chased it into some nettles where she chickened out  (I am very angry about this). My friend's spaniel went in and put it up again and Esme caught it. It had a bit of myxi, but not that bad.

We were quite a long way from home and would have had to walk through Oxford carrying it so I thought I'd be clever and throw it in the river, but Nana thought she'd be even cleverer so in the end I had to hide it in the reeds.

what great pictures, all your dogs are a credit to you they are in great condition. especially Esme. The first of many

Well done Esme....My two couldn't catch a cold.............I'm not worried, I quite like furry things :- "

Well done Esme  Loved Nanas retrieving skills  - mine do exactly the same when you try to get rid of one (dead one that is) :- "

Ive even put them high up in trees - its fun to watch Oscar dancing on his hind legs. :*

perhaps next time she catches one you could skin it and eat it? Instead of throwing it in old father thames!

It really wan't terribly nice- mixy and rather chewed by E.

Has anyone eaten a myxi rabbit?

I dont imagine there is much left on them since they are barely able to breath let alone eat :( We gave them to my friend for her birds of prey last year.

They`re only really fit for ferret food or if not too far advanced dog food , but it isn`t a pleasant task skinning a myxied rabbit :x
