following on from the thread about being out working and having a dog what is your dream job?owning and running your own racing kennels?an investigative journalist, finding out out all the gossip and news?or chief taster in a jelly bean factory? :D id like to be chief buyer for a large company and to be able to indulge my shopping urges to the full! (w00t)

think mine would involve foreign travel in the trade i'm in (CAD, sheet metal work design etc) would'nt have to take holidays then! thats the only sensible 1 i could think of, the hounds would still be looked after tho!

reporter for moto gp as im a gp fanatic, going to donington this weekend

Journalist for the New York Times. I read it when I was in New York and for some reason enjoyed it. When I stayed with my cousin in New York the atmosphere was just amazing. (w00t)

funerals!

Proper black plumed horses and coach with all the trimmings!

(closet goth i know)

This has been my dream as my close friends know. If I won the lottery I'd buy a huge piece of land in a nice rural location and have a doggy holiday site. I don't mean boarding kennels but somewhere where families could come with their dogs camping / caravanning and take them on nice walks and try new things with them, eg an agility area, a flapping track, a hydrotherapy pool, flyball etc etc, I'd get folk in one day a week to do things like canine massage, obediance classes etc and I'd have a huge shop selling loads of doggy gear and a doggy creche where people can leave their dogs for a few hours to go sightseeing etc.

LOL you all think I'm bonkers now and Mum's probably despairing at what I'm going to do with my inheritance!

I would love to own a small caravan site with a nice sized lake on it with some big carp in it, also with lots of room for the whips to run around and obviously very dog friendly , I would run it myself (and OH of course) somewhere like Suffolk(so I could pester Lampy  )or Cornwall somewhere nice anyway :D

Well you've got to have a dream :)

As for money we could always batter our eye lashes at the friendly bank manager

Maybe we could ask for some hunks to volunteer so we practise our masage techiniques  :p

Well, the job i do now suits me down to the ground - i work for a small company providing staff training (amongst other things).....and although standing up in front of a room full of people at one point would have terrified me - now i love it!

but i have another side (some might say darker lol!) i have a design MA which i got for doing some very innovative and beautiful things with fabric and rubber! Oh yes folks, you read it right! I am starting to investigate setting up a business of my own making rubbery textiles .... spent last night designing a logo!

I was sorely tempted to do a PhD not becasue i really want to research the subject further - but so i could call myself Dr of Rubber!

There you are, do you all have a different picture of me now? (w00t) lol!

stick me on the alps with a smallholding, some cabins for guests.....bliss. simple, quiet, self contained. as long as civilization isnt too far away. a girl has to consider her book collection, after all (w00t)

Couldn't agree with you more Lalena...book collection MUST be considered! lol

I'm doing my dream job too - living as a painter in a pretty little cottage in the country surrounded by my dogs.

If you threw in winning the lottery I'd design a house built of oak with a beautiful studio and a gallery, in the middle of an estate with woodland and a lake with a boat and rainbow trout, a river, a walled garden and an orchard so the dogs and OH and I could take blissfull walks in our own ground. I'd have a lure for the dogs to chase and the whole thing would be security fenced so they couldn't get stolen.

I'd have an exhibition every year of paintings of the dogs in their gardens.. I'd have doggy friends and artists come to stay so we could paint the dogs and the waterlillies on the lake, or the flowers in the garden... and have afternoon tea on the lawn.... and.....

dream on kiddo :teehee:

(p.s. .. and a helicopter for getting to dog-shows....)

oh that sounds ideal zilloot - can me and dij build a studio in your grounds - we wouldn't take up much space - promise!

Wouldnt mind owning the 750 acre farm where I work :- " but alas I dont - so I work there instead. :D Just wish I had a few of those acres so I could own a horse again one day. :luck:

Would love to run a cattery and boarding kennels ....... but my dream job would be to be a VET - but that aint going to happen now I dont think. :( but am as near as I can to owning animals and working with them too, so not too bad.

Im very happy with the new job i've just got as it's what i've wanted for ages (being a Detective). However, if money wasn't an object i'd just do it part time and live somewhere with a lot of land. Maybe break and school horses and do something with dogs. :D

Just not having to work full time would be a start.

Would love to be a freelance landscape photograper, and be able afford to live in a cottage with a big, secure garden in the country. Would love a Scottish Highland coastal retreat too (but don't agree with folk having second homes) so would be in a bit of a dilemma where to live in the countryside.

I have my dream job!! Walking dogs and training them.I love my job and grace gets to come to work with me.She thinks mummys job is the best ever.I also qualified as an animal psychologist last year.I used to be a horse riding instructor but had a very bad accident so moved on to the dogs.Although I still teach private clients, but do not ride much now.I know I am very lucky to be doing a job that I love.It took alot of hardwork to get known but it has all paid off.Follow your dreams!!!!
