Right folks, a few weeks back i was about to attempt to make another drag lure. The last one i made was about 10 years ago when i worked in a tool room and had access to all the tools and equipment that were required. After a bit of thought it would have been too much hassle this time around to get the parts and ask friends to do the welding and machining that is needed, so i contacted about half a dozen people who made lures both in England and Northern Ireland. I was about to place an order in for one when i was put into contact with a guy over here in Northern Ireland called Graham Meek, thanks Leanne. I saw a few pictures of the type of lure he made and orderd one immediately and received it within a couple of days. I have seen a number of lures used at the Lurcher shows over they years and have never seen one designed and made to such a standard for the money he charges. Attention to detail is an understatment as he has given thought to every detail and part. The lure came supplied ready to go with battery and every part was brand new. Below are a few pics. What do you think?

Hi dazgail

The lure looks great how much does he charge for them???

I think thats also the best i have seen. Been looking to get one for a few months now myself and looked at different sellers but that one is perfect.

Can you give a price and contact details as if funds allow i'd like to order one (fingers crossed he posts to UK)

love the fact its on wheels and has the battery in it!

my one is quite heavy and has to be carried or put on a trolly, then you have to carry the battery aswell

looks the business and as you say a lot of thought has gone into the design.

have been lookingfor lure machine on and off for about a year (not one to rush things! )

would also appreciate approx cost and contact details.

many thanks

That looks fantastic. Please can you pm me the details?

Cheers,

Vicky

Looks well made

I see the wheel/drum is a quite a bit of the ground and doesnt have a ground based ring to guide the line. How well does the line wind up (without coming off the wheel/drum)?

The lure comes supplied with three guide rings which are pegged into the ground very close to the lure, very quick and easily done. I believe the N.I. Sporting Whippet Club have used this lure at all of their racing days and have never had one problem with it and that must be after hundreds of runs. They cost £190. Graham Meek number is 07738587127. As i said in a previous post it is professionally made with brand new parts. The workmanship is first class. Some of the detail that has gone into this lure is top drawer. Anyone who has bought one in the past or who will buy one will understand what i mean when they see it. Graham takes great pride in the lure and i know from experience that he is not makinig a lot of money from it. I have seen dozens of lures over the years and for £190 none of them come close to matching this one.

WOW!

I don't have an excuse to buy a second machine :( so I am going to have to get my OH to adapt the Lure machine that I have got.

The battery underneath & with wheels is fantastic.

the sporting whippet is using one of grahams lures for two years and never a hitch.i got one myself this year for the mourne show as i was well impressed with them.i can vouch for the attention to detail to anyone. :luck: :luck:

Used it last week a couple of times to give my mates wee whippet bitch a run to see if she would chase the lure. It worked a treat. Left it with him to use so he could get his bitch chasing hard as i'll not be needing it for a while. If you want to borrow it until you get one work away.
