What a day ive had. I popped out for 10 minutes and left toby in his usual position on the couch. I came back to find he has dug out my M+S White Chocolate from xmas and ate two whole bags!! (They were well hidden and still in the sealed box) He seemed fine but after a few hours he started being sick. I was going to just monitor him but he was sick 5 times in an hour so I decided to ring the vets for advice. After telling them the story they advised I get him to the surgery asap, which I did. On the way he was sick twice in the car. Once over the passenger seat and once over my lap. We got to the vets and I got out looking like I wet myself. Went to see the vets and she examined him and said that white chocolate doesnt poison dogs and he was probs just sick from eating too much in the same way humans are sick fromeating too much cake. That set me back £50. He then came full of beans - nowt wrong with him but yet somehow I end up covered in sick, £50 lighter and no xmas chocolates to look forward to!!!! Just my luck!!

Just be glad that the chocolates were not dark chocolate. The vets bill could have been a lot more or you could even have lost Toby.

It is amazing how they can sniff you delectable treats to scoff!

That's whippets for you. I came down one morning to find my two had scoffed my daughter's white and milk chocolate birthday cake. Pip looked as though she had a football in her stomach, so perfectly rounded was it, but neither looked or appeared 'ill'. Rushed them to the vets who said Pip had an arythmic heart but as we didn't know at what time of the night they had their feast, we couldn't give them charcoal so just had to monitor them. Neither of them were even sick, Pip's stomach went down as the day progressed and they were both fine. However, I was so cross with my 16 year old for not putting her cake away even though I had asked her to on several occassions, that I cancelled her party and she didn't get her birthday present.

Glad your boy's ok.

NB I have often eaten far too much cake and have never been sick - wonder where I am going wrong!!

Oops....... poor you! (w00t)

sorry but i did laugh at that :D as most of us on here would probably of done the same thing and rushed the little monkey to the vets only to ge ripped off - bless em they do have noses like blood hounds where choccie is concerned!

Nah it was quite funny. I had the chocolate in a piano stool that you have to lift up.I feel bad because I should have hidden it better, perhaps up a height. Im just going to give up chocolate in future because I cant keep him away from the stuff. haha

Glad Toby is ok, as you say that’s whippets for you.

I had an unpleasant drive back from the park today; I was gagging as you probably were. :x

The picture says it all :x …Yuk is putting it mildly.
