Some of you may well know that the fed committee member Don Syson hasn’t been on top form for a few weeks now, this is due to some old battle scars from the past, not from the boar war, (although he must be old enough to have been there).

It is a back problem due to being buried down the pits a couple of times, so I sincerely hope that he takes things easy at the champs and that someone else will do the running about up and down the stairs at this championship meeting for him.

I am sure Linda will delegate someone to help the old man out if needs be, we don’t want to see the end of a good whippet man yet, wrap him in cotton wool for a few weeks Ruth. Will see to it that you have a ton of coal waiting for you to move in when you come off shift Sunday night, (the good old days ey).

Get better soon Don
