I'd be worried about personal data storage aspects - I don't like sharing more than is necessary. And I could quickly list my dog on the DogsLost website within minutes of him getting lost. I'd be getting in touch with the local pound anyway.

The website says 'All other UK Microchip databases think your contact details should be a secret and only supplied to dog wardens, rescue centres or the police': I'm not sure that is correct - I thought vets could scan your dog, obtain your contact details and contact you directly?

If the dog is wearing the tag and someone can activate it you'll be notified of its location - sure, I can see that that being useful but then with everyone carrying a mobile phone these days, they could just ring the number on your dog's normal tag.

So I'm not convinced the benefits outweigh my concerns... but then I am known for looking gift horses in the mouth;)
