Was anyone listening to the Drive Time show on Radio 2 earlier this evening? One of the features was a woman who was on talking about her business which is to hire out dogs to 'members' - membership fee was something like £279 per month (if I remember correctly - tbh by this time I just couldn't believe what I was hearing so I might have made a mistake). The idea is that people who like dogs but don't have the lifestyle to be able to look after one permanently can hire one out for a period of time instead  She said most of the dogs were rescue dogs and that for some members it was a way to 'try before you buy' but I must say I found the whole concept quite disturbing - no matter how sociable or friendly the dogs I can't imagine this would ever be a substitute for a permanent loving home. Did anyone else hear this?
