Hey there, my dog Princess has had problems with itching for a few years now. Her belly and armpits have developed this black and pink speckled look to them, and her fur is usually very oily. We also unfortunately don’t have much money at all to spend on vet visits. She’s about 9 years old and one of the vet visits we’ve been to in the past suggested steroids. This has been the only thing that has made her noticeably happier and less itchy. We can not afford more steroids and seems not to be a permanent solution. She seems ok, but I know she’d be a lot happier for we could do something to help her.

If you are on low income you maybe able to get lower cost vet visits from PDSA

Modern day convenient foods can have an effect on our pets and cause a lot of unpleasant itches.
Have you considered using a good quality Grain Free kibble or better even still changing to a raw diet? (remember that RICE is also a grain)
There are lot's of people with itchy pet problems who have made the change, with good results.
