Dog Shows

Hello everyone, there's a dog show at the Magnum Leisure Center in Irvine, I got hold of the organizer & whippets will be shown after the toys round about 11 (free admission). I've still to get a whippet and was wondering if the dog owners are a good source of information on where to buy a dog? Would they be forward with that kind of information?

Hi, A dog show is a good place to meet owners and talk to them about Whippets, just don't pick the very moment someone is about to go in the ring! (w00t) . Why not go along to watch the judging and talk to people afterwards

Yeah probably a good idea to wait till the end, can't wait, i've never been to a dog show before so it'll be a new experiance

Hi there i wont be there but bluesky(aka Pauline ) will be there with her whippet puppy look out for the name veredon she also might be there with her bitch whose name is speymalt summer harvest am sure she would be happy to talk to you :thumbsup:

Hi, Im in the same boat really, although I have shown dogs before (terriers). Im on the lookout for a pup as well but Im taking my time. I dont really know where to start, but if the people at the shows are as friendly as they seem on this forum Im sure we will both get lots of help and info!! :thumbsup: Let us know how you get on.

Will do, and if the owners are as friendly as the folk in this forum i wont have a problem :b , i guess you've read endless books & websites dedicated to whippets and still feel lost aswell Tina? It all seems very easy until you're actually near to buying a whippet then you get stuck :rant: , I'm just paranoid about buying from a puppy farmer in disguise or getting a pup with a problem. :luck: Tina
