Dog Had A Go At The Girls.

I took Zana and Tala later than normal on the beach today as

we've had a busy weekend i dont want to get up and go early

like we normally do.

I spotted someone i hadn't seen before at the waters edge while

we were on the dunes. She whistled her dog and it promptly took

itself of the other way. I didnt think anymore of it until it flew out

from some dunes at the girls..........Tala took of down the beach

like a bullet.....didnt realise she could move so fast. Zana on the

other hand hesitated a minute, i heard her scream and my heart

stopped for a minute and then she ran.

Its not much of a wound thank God, she must have moved quick

enough. But do you know that woman never stopped just kept

sauntering along the beach, i couldn't go after her because i

needed to get the girls who were still running...but there's tomorrow......

it does look quite nasty and most shocking it's on the front (it is a shoulder?), for a dog to just run up and sink its teeth almost right in her face :angry:

what is it with people! judging by the type of the attack - surely it wasn't the first time, yet they think they have every right to let them off lead.

hope you all will be ok, we've had a few run ins and even if they are not bitten it just leaves you with nasty feeling

Poor Zana .........hope she ok Ann,and you too.This what annoys me with people,she must of known her dog done something and must of heard Zana crys and they just carry on although nothing happened!! and not taking any responsibilites whatsoever!!!! Perhaps this has happened before Ann??? It might not be much of a wound,but that is beside the point,it could of been alot worst and you needing help!!!!!!

Sounds like Zana was lucky to not suffer a worse injury. I’m glad that there doesn’t appear to be any serious damage and that she isn’t too spooked.

When Frankie was bitten last year, resulting in absolutely loads of staples, a 7 inch scar and more than six months out of the show ring; the owner of the offending dog, scarpered before Jo had chance to catch up with him. Like you she was concentrating primarily on getting the dogs back, not thinking that the owner would be so irresponsible to just run off! :rant:

If any of our dogs were ever to do something like that, I would be so mortified I would be offering to take the dog to the vets there and then, not running off without a word of apology.

Poor Zana! It is scary too, and I know you often can't see who is up in the dunes so it's not like you even have the option of avoiding them! Can't believe the owner just walked off, some people are just so irresponsible!

Oh no, not Zana. Poor little girl and I am so sorry. Don't these imbeciles make you want to vomit, I used to often see a girl jogging (electric blue, lycra clad anorexic clutching a dumb bell in each hand), with a young staffi and every single time it would go for one of my dogs. She used to jog on and pretend she hadn't seen and I am convinced it was because she had absolutely no control over her animal, so rather than face the music, she kept on manically jogging. I hope you see said cretin so that you can give her a piece of your mind - if that's possible whilst keeping your dogs safe.

Aw, poor Zana, hope she gets over it quickly with no lasting damage. These kind of people are my pet hate at the moment, and it's true you end up so busy looking after your dogs that it's only later you think, 'Damn, I should have taken a photo.'

Poor Zana - I hope she heals soon (and equally importantly, isn't scared of other dogs because of what happened to her). I also hope you meet the other dog owner tomorrow ... but I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't reappear for a while.

Some people just CAN'T do the responsible thing, can they? Sometimes I think that's what puts me off having dogs (for all that we have them!) - because of the stupidity of some other dog owners.

Poor Zana, I hope that it heals well soon, and poor you, you must have gotten an awful fright, it feels so awful when you see them like that then run off in fright. We seem to be hearing more and more of this on k9 is it something about whippets other dogs don't like or just more people are being irresponsible with their aggressive dogs. hope the girls get over it quickly, that woman won't be around for a while, she knows very well what she's resposible for, if she is there you should take her and the dogs photo and report her.

Poor little Zana And to hear her cry like that as well!! You must have been so worried until you got her back and was able to check the damage.
