Dog Boots

My dog has ripped a nail, the vet has cut it off, exposing the quick. I am thinking of buying some boots for agility dogs, has anyone used them, i want to keep the dog fit for the september shows?

I got some made to measure, & they look like they should work, but the dog HATES them, and rips them off far quicker than I can ever put them on.

Are you talking about a dew claw or nail on the actual paw??

I have run mine in stopper boots (like brushing boots for horses!) before now and I have also taken them out for exercise in them if they have skinned their stopper pads at any time (I put elastoplast over the stopper pad first, then the boot on).

If it is one of the nails on the paw I wouldn't waste your money buying boots, I have yet to find boots that stay on!!!

It is a nail on the paw, but it seems to be healing well so i may be jumping the gun buying boots.

Just a thought, should have said earlier, when Nana wore down one of her toes into the quick and made it bleed I put some nail varnish on it which seemed to make it alot more comfortable for her. I know this isn't the same situation, but thought it might possibly help.
