Hello!
This is Dobbie, she is a rescue dog from Thailand that I fell in love with when visiting the rescue centre and will be coming over to live with me in the UK later on in the year :) the poor girl hasn't had a great time the past year or so, the rescue centre told me she was given an injection to prevent her from getting pregnant but it didn't work so her owners dumped her at a temple and left her there. The injection made the foetuses abnormally massive and it would have been very dangerous for her to try and give birth to them. Luckily the temple had contact with Lanta Animal Welfare who picked her up and sorted her out. She is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm but once she is testing negative she'll be ready to come home!
She is wonderfully sweet and very beautiful, I'm extremely excited for her arrival :)

No wonder she needs a coat! - she's as dainty as a fairy. :D

she may have sighthound in her ancestry, U might want to DNA profile her, or just assume that Italian Greyhound or Whippet or some relative is present, & ask the vet to use extreme caution with meds & / or anaesthesia, just in case.
Sighthounds metabolize drugs much slower, & are sensitive to GA - isofluorane is among the safest options for any breed or mix, as it's a gas, readily controlled, & the plane of consciousness can be adjusted very finely.

OTOH, her thinness might not be hereditary, but due to her difficult past - & digestive enzymes will help her to digest her food better, while probiotics help her to absorb all the nutrients contained in it B4 they're excreted as waste.

Amazon usually carries both - be aware, the probiotic MUST be kept refrigerated, or the live critters will die.

To give them to a pet, i simply twist the capsules open 1 at a time, & spill the powder onto a Tbsp of organic yogurt [don't sneeze or laugh - it'll be everywhere... :rolleyes: ], stir them in, & use a spatula to get every bit of it out of the bowl & onto their food.
I then offer the spatula to the pet for licking - don't want to waste any. :p

Enzymes are not body-storable, they're given at each meal, but giving the probiotics once daily with a meal for 5 days or a week, then every other day for a sennight, then MWF, etc, & U can finally reduce it to once weekly, as maintenance, so soon as the dog establishes a good popn in their gut.
IF THEY GET ANTI-Bs, ask the vet if probiotics can be given at the same time - but staggered away from the Rx by at least 2-hours time.
Once U've given all the anti-Bs, do the daily / every other day / MWF / biweekly / weekly maintenance schedule again, to re-establish all those nice friendly gut-microbes. :)

These 2 things together from RenewLife have worked wonders in dumped / malnourished / orphaned pups & kittens, as well as my elderly mother after a tremendously-powerful antibiotic had to be given [it destroyed her sense of smell, & thus taste, as a predicted possible side-effect].
