Dexa Scan

got to go for a dexa scan on monday has anyone on here had one. it says i have to lye flat for a few minets any idea how long they realy mean as its realy painfull to lye flat so dont know how long i can stay there. I recon i will get there and get sent home as it allso says the scans not relibel if you have any spinel defornatys well scoliosis and a great big usless rod fuesd and screwed on it might class as a deformity lol should be fun anyway trying to get it done

Wendy my Mum has these as she has osteoporosis so I just rang and asked her and she says hers take about 5 mins :thumbsup:

thats what im having it for to see how bad mine is as it was picked up on a normal xrays and scan but Dr wants a dexa scan to asses how bad it is. will have to takes all my painkillers and keep my fingers cross i can lye still for 5 minets thanks for checking

I am getting a bit fed up of test now had loads now i have a GP that does more than keeping uping my painkillers and sending me home trouble is every time he does a test he fineding somthing else wrong lol. At least when i do teh DLA forms I will have lots of proof of whats wrong with me hope the have long pages to wright stuff in lol

There's loads of space (maybe not enough fro you LOL!) - and there's loads of repetition. I know you can fill them in online now, so you may be able to find one to have a look at.

I had the scan today and the lady was brill after a few minets trying to do my hight as i carnt stand strate i lean forward we did the best between us and added a bit lol. there was a lot of moving about trying to gte the scan doneespcily as its normily hip and spine and she couldnt do my spine it was painfull trying to stay still but with pain killers its done hope i dont have to do another as its realy uncomfortabel for me but if your normal it just a case of lying back thats it. have to wait 2 weeks for the results

I am still high as a kite aswell as my morphone iv had the maxs on painkillers i could ahve to get through the scan but its all done now yay

I was worred weather i could lye down and still long enghe but we got round it witha few propes pillows and painkillers lol
