Might be of interest to anyone unable to attend Crufts this year! Sounds good

Crufts FM - hear the show anywhere in the world!

Constantly looking to improve on the ‘Crufts experience’ for visitors to the ultimate canine event, the Kennel Club will be broadcasting ‘Crufts FM’ twenty four hours a day during Crufts 2005.

It will provide comprehensive information on all aspects of the show and including interesting interviews on a wide range of dog related subjects with experts from the canine world.

Crufts FM will be broadcast on the frequency 106.8 from Wednesday 9th March, all the way through until the 15th March within a 5km radius of the NEC and will also be broadcast across the UK and Northern Europe via GlobeCast Radio on Sky Digital channel 907 and across the world on the web via the Crufts website www.crufts.org.uk.

Radio ear pieces may be purchased at the event from the catalogue selling outlets for £5 and information provided will include all the latest show news, traffic and travel news and interviews on issues such as vulnerable breeds, canine health and welfare and canine political affairs.

Listeners will be able to contact the show to make their views heard regarding various aspects of the show.

Said Rosemary Smart, Chief Executive of the Kennel Club, "Many events in the UK now offer a locally broadcast FM radio station and examples include Wimbledon, Cowes Week and the Blenheim International Horse Trials.

By bringing Crufts FM to the visiting audience we will be able to assist them with up to the minute information regarding ‘what’s on where’, notify them of the latest travel news and provide them with feature items on various issues.

The station will also be transmitting Crufts worldwide, helping to publicise the Kennel Club’s key messages regarding responsible dog ownership and highlighting the many areas where dogs have a positive effect on our lives."

Sounds good - Pity I don't have sky though :(

Nope. . Just looked at the Sky for this month. Nothing there about Crufts.

 Who needs Crufts FM when you can be interviewed for a REAL radio station (Ashfield Community Radio on 102.4 FM) by yours truly, who will have her mini recording gear (looks very swish, headphones, microphone and machine) and a press badge to boot. Makes me look as though I know what I'm doing. (w00t) It will be a laugh whatever.

As I will be at Crufts every day (my poor feet!) I'm doing a series on Crufts for our next broadcast in August, so you lucky lucky people will probably get interviewed. But not till after the food and of course some of the good ole vino - hic! Then you'll lose all your inhibitions and it will be a very very interesting discussion. :p
