Hi

Am I right in thinking that coursing whippets are mainly kept in the home as pets? If coursing is banned in about three months time are there kennel whippets whose futures will look bleak?

I only wondered as there are a lot of coursing greyhounds who will meet their end if there is a ban. On the other hand thousands of people pledged to continue coursing even if it is banned. Some good dogs may go to Ireland, but a lot of them came from there in the first place.

How do you all feel? One of the parliament acts is illegal, but I don't know which one they will use. We know people involved in coursing for a living. What are they supposed to do? The foxhunters will have two years notice due to their human rights, but what about coursing trainers?

Yes as far as i know mainly the coursing Whippets are pets and kept in the home (so we'll be o.k on the rabbiting front).......but i do feel sorry for the majority of the other sighthound breeds when/if this stupid ban comes into place  ...............People really don't see the full picture and it p###es me right off

Sorry I've taken my eye off this subject. Why will foxhunting folk have human rights and not the coursers?

my coursing whippets are pets.....as are most...they will always have a home.

IF they ban coursing , mine will still hunt rabbits....They will run the odd hare, cos you can't avoid that....But they won't have the slipper in the red coat to honour the hare and pay her the respect she deserves.

The government claim that coursing must be banned in 3 months to bring poaching under control.

I can't get over this one. Nothing will stop the poachers! Law abiding people will be stopped though. Coursing under rules doesn't include trespassing!

The government wants to introduce the ban on coursing in time to stop the Waterloo Cup. How pathetic!

When in Ireland earlier this year, we were told by an elderly gentleman that The Irish Government is also trying to bring in legislation to stop hunting and coursing over there.

USE YOUR VOTE PEOPLE!!!if its the end for" official "coursing , then let it be the end for blair!
