Concerns over strange behavior

Hi,

I have concerns over my Irish Setter 8 ear old mail. His name is Bailey, and has some very strange ways which are lovely and part of his character.

However I do worry that he seems to have some traits which would associate with dogs far older than he is. Lately, he has been a little leaky in the boyhood area, particularly when sleeping for a long time. I thought he may have a physical problem, as sometimes he will go in the garden and stand there for ages without anything productive coming out. He never seems in any pain, and is last check up was clear.

A problem I thought might be serious, except that other times there are no problems in the garden, and when Bailey goes out, he wee's for England. So it seems more psychological than physical. Has anyone got any idea what is going on here.

Regards

Chris

I am honestly not sure, but the one thing I will say is to get him checked over at the vets just to put your mind at rest.

If you have to pay for a scan or an x ray then so be it. Its better to be safe than sorry.

Is there anything else that is worrying you? Is he still eating and drinking? Another trip to vets might be the best idea just to put your mind at rest!

If the vet gives him the all clear then it may be that he is just scent marking. He has an empty bladder but just wants to put his scent somewhere.
