:D mine dont wear collars in the day at home, i only put them on to take them out

just wanted to know how many of you keep collars on all the time?

Same as mine, only worn out on walks, and taken off for free exercise 8)

Mine wear them all the time. But i do take their big

ones of and just have thin rolled one's with their ID on.

I keep them on just in case someone comes in and

leaves the door open or something and one of them

gets out

Mine have thin rolled leather collars with their ID too and they wear them during the day whether indoors or outside. When out walking they have fluorescent collars as well

But all the collars come off at night time - that signifies "peace and quiet" :- "

never apart from when i have to put them on a lead

Mine never wear collars at home unless out for walking, but wear them all the time on holiday or away from home

mine only wear their collars when they go out for walks too

Should have said that they have free range of 3 acres at home and there is always the dreaded chance that they could escape (being the Houdini's they are) and that is why they have collars on all day long

I'd love to only have collars on ours when they're out, because they look so lovely without them - but we once had 2 bitches fight - I was on my own, and anyone who has had bitches fighting knows they mean business. I managed to part them, getting bitten in the process. If they hadn't had collars on, there would have been no way to part them :( Also during the fight, the collars protected their necks, as they had big teeth marks in after - which would have been in the flesh otherwise.

I had to go to A&E, but the dogs were OK :- " I do wonder where it would have ended, had they not had collars on. They say bitches will fight to the death, and I know these two would have :(

Surprisingly, they are now the best of friends, and never even look like they will fall out - but I like that bit of security of being able to control them if I need to :)

Mine only wear collars when going out of the house for a walk. as soon as we come back home the collars come off. When we are at a show, somewhere miles from home they keep them on all day but I take them off last thing at night once the dogs are safely shut in the van -_-

I used to leave collars on all the time until one day, on holiday some years ago, Hebe & Rafferty were playing & it got a bit het-up (w00t)

Suddenly Hebe started gagging & Raffy was struggling too. He had got his lower jaw under her collar & couldn't let go. He had also managed to twist so the collar was well & truly stuck round his jaw, behind his teeth. Hebe was basically being strangled by Raffy. It was awful, I tried to take Hebes collar off but couldn't get the buckle undone as it was so tight. Luckily it was a webbing collar & I was able to grab some scissors from the caravan & cut her collar off.

I dread to think what would have happened if we weren't there :x Hebe definately would have died & Raffy probably would have had a dislocated jaw at least.

Since then I always take collars off when they are left alone. I even take Hebes off when her & Scrumpy run in the meadow as Scrumpy usually goes for Hebes neck in play.

My lot all only wear collars when they are on walks. I know some one who left a collar on a whippet puppy and went out the pup jumped up at the sides in the kitchen hooked its collar over the door handle and strangled itself. Some of you may remember I posted about her on here

Ours wear little 'house collars' with their ID on all the time, and only wear their leather whippet collars when they go out on leads.

Mine only wear them to go out for walks...

now and then they wear a house collar...when I have friends round...

mine all have their big proper whippet collars with tags on 24/7 apart from grooming time in the mornings, or if they are off colour and glands are up

when Otis and Owen had a falling out last year i was able to pull them apart using their collars and judging by the scratches left behind in the leather i think they offered quite a bit of protection to their necks

tissy also escaped once and his collar and tag meant that i quickly received a phone call telling me where he was :sweating:

My lot wear their proper collars 24/7 ....... I'm just too lazy to keep taking them off and putting them back on .....Plus Eric looks gorgeous in his bling

mine both have house collars with id on at all times, just in case some pillock leaves a door or gate open.

only have their big collars on for walks

I leave my dogs on - I like them to be tagged at all times - Barney once got out when we were staying at Whitby (of what we thought was an unescapable garden) and was back with me within 10 minutes because of it!
