We have a rescue dog who's a mixed breed. We have no idea what breed although she looks like she could be a whippet cross husky. She has the colouring /markings of a husky and is highly intelligent but she is shaped like a lurcher (slim but not skinny) with short hair with the speed of a whippet.

She can be a nervous lass when out on the street and will sometimes try and bolt when confronted by a scary looking human or a loud noise.

We currently have a basic collar which I'm worried will slip over her head because her head is quite small. I've looked at the whippet collars but her neck isn't as long as a whippet so not sure the thick bit will be comfy enough for her.
We've been using the double connector lead that you use for two dogs and clipping one to her collar and one to her harness but it doesn't feel right.

What collar would you recommend to ensure it won't slip off if she bolts?

Thanks

Can't help with a collar but there is a harness called Houdini (for obvious reasons) that might be worth a look.

Could you just walk her in a harness? One company I know of, Perfect Fit, can supply the different components of a harness separately and have excellent customer service, so you can get one that is just right for her body shape.

Another suggestion is to try her in a whippet collar just in case it does work. A while back I ordered this one for my dog: LUXE Leather Tapered Hound Collars – Purple It wasn't suitable as I'd got my measurements wrong and the largest size was still too small, but the leather was really, really soft, so might work, depending on her neck length. If you're concerned about comfort she could just wear it outside the house.

@SkyBlu - sorry for a little derail but @JudyN you have no idea how long I have been looking for a supplier of Luxe leather since the pet shop that i used to buy them from closed. Thanks for the link, I am about to spend some money!

The softness of the leather is lovely, it's by far the nicest lead I have ever held but is just a bit scruffy now.
