Hi,

I am getting a cockerspaniel puppy next month at 9 weeks old

What's the best but affordable diet?

Thankyou in advance ☺️

You should keep your puppy on the same food as the breeder was using until he/she has settled in to reduce the amount of changes all happening at once, but after a few weeks you can gradually wean him or her on to something new if you want. Do that by mixing new with old and gradually increasing the ratio of new to old, over about a week or ten day period.

As to the best food, there really is no 'best', every dog is different. You could look at www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk. It independently assesses dog foods according to what they think is good quality, and if you put in your dog's weight it also shows daily feeding costs so you can see which give you best value for money.
