Chihuahua health advice needed

She sounds to be in pain. Have you phoned your vet and discussed her symptoms? They might at least be able to send you some pain relief for her or other medication. Personally, if the vet will see her, I'd get her there one way or another.

Thank you for your reply. I have emailed my vet today but will also ring her in the morning. I have some Metacam from February but I'm not sure if giving her that would help her at all?
I agree about taking her to the vets but I have been on high risk lockdown with my parents since mid-March and cannot leave the house. If I do I will have to find somewhere else to live as I won't be able to return to my parents.

There will be some provision for emergency transport. Your vet may be able to advise on this, otherwise you might need to find a local dog walker. 'Handover' has to be at a distance, but presumably you have some sort of carrier you can put her in, put it out of the door and step back, and the other person can pick her up.

There may be a theoretical risk when she is returned that she has been in contact with the virus, but vets are already going to be very aware of the risks and if everyone involved is careful, wears disposable gloves, etc., I'd imagine that you have nothing to worry about.

Do please let us know how you get on.
