Just watched Denman won with Kaoto Star 2nd.

Denman outjumped Kauto Star and thats the bottom line. Kauto Star was never going and never have I been so disappointed, both horses are true racehorses and, the hype leading up to the race led us all to expect a real 'head to head' I'm sure they will come up against each other again (those old enough will remember Mill House and Arkle!) I love the 'type' Denman is, big, solid boned old fashioned chaser, but Kauto Star is a great horse too and I'm not saying Denman is a better horse but, on the day, he delivered the goods. Well done though to the Paul Nicholls team - 1 2 and 3!!!! I think the ground was against Kauto Star but he gave a good account of himself, above all they are all home safe and sound. God, only when I watch things like Cheltenham do I realise how much I miss my racing!
