 at scotland somebody gave a certain dog a load of peanuts the night before the derby. the people in the caravan did not have any peanuts so it was obvious somebody did this on purpose. this resulted in the dog being very sick, also another dog in the same awning was sick all week on arriving at scotland who is normally fit and well mmmmmmmmmm. do people really have to resort to this behaviour, i think they should pack in racing if they have to resort to interfering in this way. ???

Never mind racing, these sort of people just aren't wanted because they are certainly not dog lovers

too true, when you have put all the hard work in with them its not fair for somebody to do that to the poor dogs, never mind the owners will be more alert next time. ;)

:0 that is why i don't whant to race my whippets all that you hear is that poor dog are geting hirt and cheating is you get it in all kind's of hobbes i get it in showing my rabbits and my mum and dad get it in the bird's these kind of people should be band from the hobby if use find out who it is. catrina (cat)

Sorry to hear that Neil. The dog was lucky, in a way doing dirty deeds like that can be so dangerous. Did thay not think of that

That is why when we camp, if leave the dogs in the evening we lock them in the car, but not everyone is able to do this. Such a pity we can not trust our fellow racers and so called friends. I hope thay realise the damage it could have caused the poor dog. How can we keep our dogs save unless we stay with them 24-7 ?? Not easy. At the coming events it looks like one of us will have to stay behind with our dogs, if fellow racers can not be trusted. Its disgracefull.

there always seems to be a few idiot's trying spoil it for the majority what ever the sport the best we can hope for is to root them out.

There wasn`t that many people at Scotland so perhaps you can narrow the number of suspects down to a few likely candidates.

there was quite a few there tony so finding the culprit is a bit like finding a needle in a haystack!!!!!!!!!!

Although dog numbers were down on last year there was a reasonable turn out for the Scottish opens despite growing compitition from other opens so if you have any ideas on how to find the person(s) responsable for this I am sure we would be glad to hear them.

Thinking about it even if there were not that many there how would you go about narrowing it down to a few culprits.

I doubt that your ever going to find out for sure who the culprits were or stand any chance of proving it without witnesses.

Personaly I would base my suspicions on those who had opportunity and motive and who`s character is of dubious standing.

BTW I wasn`t infering the turnout was poor but that the number of people present was finite.

so sad to think that fellow whippet racers would sabatage a dog by giving them loads of  peanuts, ;) what satisfaction do they get out of doing this ...

Hello im new

??? ermmmmmm well i don't know of any whippet people whose character is of dubious standing , ;) DO YOU ??? ???

well someone out there must be a bit "dodgy" to try and poison a competitors dog :0 .

well seeing as there were tinkers camping on the field as well as many whippet folk I think we can safely say it may not have been a whippet person..............
