I need some advise on a new camera. OH wants an SLR one. We have seen 2 that are in our price range

1 - NIKON D40 SLR 6MP

2 - SONY ALPHA 200 SLR

Which one would you go for? which do you think is the best? Does any of you have one of these cameras

Both good cameras but if you go with the Nikon you'll have a wider choice of lenses (both new and second hand) from a number of different manufacturers and they'll all fit and work well with the camera.

Nikon is much more proffesional

Am thinking of a Canon myself,as they seem to take better action shots than the others.If you go for one of the bundled kits,you will get 5 lens'a +the body,for around £499,400D,or £599,450D.
