The lurchers on the day weren't slow by any means, definitely the lighter one of miss madams would be competative in non ped scratch. There's a big difference in times of peds alone between the show breds and the racing breds you're looking at anything from 16.60's upto 17+ sec's.

Good heavyweights round Westhoughton are doing 15.30's/15.40's

Isn't the reason Tori did a reasonable time compared to heavy weights because in actual fact she is a whippet/greyhound out of Miss Ellie dam to Come on Sue and Come on Ernie.Most competative lurcher racing nowdays consists of whippet/greyhounds. Karen
