Busy Blue Tits

We have had this bird box up a few years now and had the odd bird use it,but this year blue tits have taken it over and nested in it .

There are definatly chicks in there cos so noisey when Mum and Dad take them food in.

I have really enjoyed watching the busy Mum and Dad going in and out, wow and do they work hard (w00t)

I have some coming to the garden for the mealworms that I put out. They are beginning to look a bit ragged. I can't help feeling sorry for them.

I have Great Tits! No not bragging :lol: We have Great Tits in one box, and Blue Tits in another. The Great Tit chicks are coming to the front of the box, and cheeping very loudly, and it's lovely to watch the parents feeding them. The Blue Tit chicks have just hatched I think, as the sound is much quieter, and more like a wee wee wee noise when the parents return.

The GT chicks were being fed by both parents yesterday, but today I can only see one parent returning with food. After I put mealworms out this morning, the one parent went from those straight to the box in really quick succession, and did manage to quieten the chicks. I hope nothing has happened to the other parent, as the remaining one will have his/her hands full (or beak full) with them.

We also have Robins feeding their young in the crook of the Yew tree, and this is the 2nd clutch this year. I think the birds have been affected by the warmer weather - I expect Bill Oddie will let us know next week, when Springwatch returns.

Thats a brilliant programe Julie, I love it too.

Ive got starlings in the corner of my kitchen, roof - I can hear them nosily feeding when Im washing up :lol: :- " Ill miss them when they go

and they have come for the last few years too. Should block the hole up but cant bear the thought.

Awww thats a nice thing to be able to see, we don't get birds in our garden because of the cat but I'm glad because she cant get them then :thumbsup:
