I was reading The Sun newspaper at work to day when I spotted a competition to find Britians fastest dog I read through the details only to find
SORRY NO GREYHOUNDS WHIPPETS OR LURCHERS ALLOWED
Apparently so many would be invited to compete at Wembley on a handicap to allow for different sizes and breeds to compete fairly
I had no intention of entering but it occured to me that my friends salukis can out run all of my whippets and my greyhound and would still be able to enter and there must be other sighthounds that can run that fast
I remember some years ago taking a couple of whippets afghan racing. They had never raced before so they raced with 2 tibetan terriers to get them to run in the right direction .They ran the wrong way round the track when run on their own
. I was told they would not be able to race the afghans as they would not be able to keep up with them
Did anyone else see this?
