Iwas reading The Sun at work today and noticed a competition to fin Britians fastest dog. I read all the details only to find this -SORRY GREYHOUNDS WHIPPETS AND LURCHERS NOT ALLOWED-
 
I've got a spaniel that thinks it's a whippet (w00t)

Lol! I was going to post about this too, OH brought the paper home to show me.

No whippets or lurchers or greyhounds??? What a silly rule. I can't see how that makes the competition any faier. They should have categories, because obviously the next fastest thing is going to be a Collie. Can't see a pug winning, or a pomeranian... so that's not fair either :b

Are whippets greyhounds and lurchers not dogs according to the sun ;) newspaper then

Didn't finish this one .did it again further down

My friends salukis can outrun my whippets and greyhound but they can be entered

O nce went afghan racing with 2 whippets and was told they would have to run on their own as they wouldn't be able to keep up with the afghans
 
Yeah i saw this and was mad.......so the sun paper doesnt want Whippet/greyhound or the other ones rwading their paper then :rant:
 
Well at least they can still buy the newspapers for potty training on !!!

At a lurcher show at the weekend I was having a chat to the judge afterwards (its alright he did give me a 1st in class, so I was'nt nipping his face about what he thought was wrong with my dog :lol: ), he was saying he'd recently judged a lurcher show and had to have the steward have a word with the lady who had come into the ring with her St.Bernard - the class was for general running dogs and she was adamant her dog could run so should be judged :cheers:
