The UK's oldest animal shelter says it had to put down roughly one third of the dogs it took in last year.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home said it had no choice but to destroy 2,815 animals - of which 1,931 were healthy - because they were unsuitable to rehome.

I think this is going to be a hard one to watch :(

probably best not to watch.

How very sad , I went on the website of a local rescue centre the other day and I would say 95%of the dogs were staffy or staffy cross , we have had a few of the old in mates into our surgery and all seem very well mannered and happy dogs ( so far ) , but on sat a couple came in for jabs for an 11 month staff and when asked to come for 2nd vac they could only come at weekends cos they worked 7.30am to 5.30pm all week !! They said the dog had separation anxiety problems , Im not Bl**dy surprised being left home all day , apart from a kindly neighbour letting it out at lunch time for a wee , Really pi**es me off these folk . What a poor dog left all alone all day . I realise folk have to work ( as I do) but How can anyone sell or rehome for this sort of life . I suppose its better then PTS but this dog was crazy for attention and such a sweetie too

off soap box now , not sure I can bare to watch programme tonight either
