Breeding

think wild whippies leaves nothing else to be said. spot on, incisive and thorough

Hmm, I was expecting to get such a reaction from anybody. Its kind of hard to reply to such messages especially wild whippies and some of the others. Thats a very thought out reply to such a simple question. But its very appreciated that you have taken the time and effort to explain your thoughts and some of your experiences. I wasnt in a rush before to breed bo, and if it ever happens now(i have been put off a little bit now), it will be a couple of years away. In the mean time i realise i need to do a lot more research. Wild whippies you might get a few questions from me in the future. i hope you wont mind. Theres lots of other people on there too who i wouldnt mind getting some advise from as well. Just cant go back and get all the names right at this minute. But thanx everybody

We're a community, we do have disagreements but I don't doubt that any caring dog owner on this forum will help you if the need arises. You might not like what you read but I would like to think all responses are done with the best of intentions for all concerned. I'm sure you, with such a thoughtful response will also do what's best for your dog (and if you so choose to, her future pups)

Meanwhile enjoy the forum, welcome to K9 and I'm sure you'll enjoy taking your dog to some of the events and maybe participate which can be a rewarding enjoyment for both dog and owner and will give you knowledge along the way.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, not easy to talk about loosing pups so I'm glad it was well received.

its something that should be addressed, and you did it well. if you talking about the dark side of breeding makes even one person think twice and maybe prevent other pups being born and suffering and dying, then your little ones didnt die for nothing, if you know what i mean? so many breeders brush it under the carpet and keep it quiet, which can result in someone unknowingly breeding to a faulty line and pups being the losers, while the owner hadnt a clue where things went wrong :(
