, Bj, fancy someone missing off Deerhounds. Seriously I'm shocked, but then Powlett, you've also missed off Sloughi, and, I would include Lurcher. I realise these are not pure-bred dogs in the K.C.'s 'eyes', but if I owned a straight Deerhound/Greyhound cross, I wouldn't know which breed to post my reply in.
Really pleased to see you here Powlett, R.R.'s are impressive looking dogs, will be nice to learn more about them.
Also, please don't be offended by this, I do not mean it in a derogatory way, but, are R.R.'s sight or scent hounds or a bit of both ? The other day, I actually described the hound group as split into 3, 1)-sight hounds 2)scent hounds and 3)R.R.'s lol .
I know that really they are sight hounds, but on appearance, they do look so different from our other sight hounds, obviously, as ours are not coursing Lions.
Although if yours is hoping to come accross Lions, on his daily walks, he/she is going to be very disapointed.
The poll only allows 10 choices, so I had to keep the list short. If anybody else would like to create a poll with other breeds, please do so. I would be interested to see them too.
RRs are classified as sighthounds but they track their "prey" by scent too. Just ask any RR owner about their affinity for dirty clothes.
Not too many lions in my subdivision, but don't tell him that. He is on the lookout daily.
Those little Sicilian things Cirecencos? are supposed to course & mark the rabbit at ground. Think Pharaoh hounds are supposed to work like this too. Maybe there should be three sections like HPR gundogs.
you also missed out the akawah (i think thts how its spelt) just out of interest does anyone still work manchester terrier's its been a while since ive seen one working or in the street.
