BOBBY

Bobby is a 2 year old greyhound boy who was not fast enough for the racetrack. He is a lovely black tuxedo boy who will be a real stunner once his coat gains a bit more condition.

Bobby is a very friendly dog who enjoys both giving and receiving affection. He adores his head rubs and isn’t ashamed to ask for more! He walks well on the lead and is a good traveller in the car.

Bobby gets on very well with our other greyhounds and doesn’t cause any problems. He has not been tested with small dogs, though this can be carried out prior to adoption if requested. Often ex-racing greyhounds take a bit of socialisation work to realise smaller breeds are in fact dogs as they would never have seen them before. He is not cat friendly.

Like most greyhounds, Bobby will not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 20min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.

Bobby has not yet been in a home environment, so new owners will need to be a bit understanding at the start and allow him time to settle and learn the house rules. It usually takes 10-14 days for new greyhounds to start to settle down in a home, and really all they need is a bit of time and patience.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

This gorgeous boy is currently being kennelled in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Bobby, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application and information pack. Thanks!
