Hi, I'm thinking of getting a pup by Bluestreak Lanfranco at Sufeina, and stupidly forgot to ask about his pedigree when I went over to see the pups. His parents are:

sire: Ousebank Free to Follow

dam: Poachyn Blue Jeans at Laurelcote.

I couldn't believe his DOB in the Whippet - 1993, was that a mis-print?

Any info on these lines would be appreciated.

Elizabeth

:D Can go back one more generation for you Elizabeth.........

sire Tweseldown Len Waverly Dam Dawn Gazelle of Ousebank

Many thanks, just what I needed! Looks good from my point of view, it complements the bitch's pedigree very well. Better go and bag that pup!

How exciting  - at least you've got lots to choose from with both mum and daughter having pups at the same time by the same sire - he was a busy boy!

And at 12+ too :- " I'll find out what he's on and bottle it :b

Frankie was indeed born on 27.8.1993. he was one of only two in the litter. The other was a bitch known as Cappuccino. He was so named because his owner to be was a big fan of Frankie Dettori !!! Cappuccino merely kept the Italian theme going. She became known as Gino when she joined her new family.

Their mother was Poachyn Blue Jeans at Laurelcote, Penny, who came to live with me when she was about 18 months old. I won 2CCs and a Res CC with her, she produced 3 litters and lived until she was nearly 15. Frankie is just under 20 inches but was an enormous puppy, luckily for Buzz who wanted to course him he stopped growing in time.

His Maternal Grandfather CH Martinsell Wild and Lonely is the very well known first ever blue whippet Champion. Frankie's Paternal Grandmother Dawn Gazelle of Ousebank was a neat Wite and brindle bitch who produced the very beautiful CH Ousebank Forever Free and my own foundation bitch Ousebank Morning Melody also a blue.

The picture shows Penny on the left with her blue grandaughter by Frankie.

Good Luck with your puppy.

Yes Cathie - Welcome! I have admired your dogs in the last two bi-ennials.

Moriarte - you have got a good dose of history there! Which pup have you got your eye on?

Many thanks for filling in the details, and welcome to K9.

After agonising discussions with OH, we've decided not to get one yet, but leave it until next spring :( This thread is making me sad now, they all look such lovely whippets. Very versatile too. Did you know a puppy from a previous Frankie/Dill litter is a very successful racing dog, running as :

Go with the Flow

Looks, speed, intelligence; what else could you possibly want from a whippet  Hopefully other K9ers will snap them up, and I can feel even worse about what I've missed out on as they go on to great things!

(Forgot to say the dam is the sister of my dog - thread and pics on General whippet)
