Gave up going to Bootsales Years ago so this gave me a laugh as it doesnt change at all. You get them all raking over the clothes and jewellry with their greasy beefburger hands and offer the most stupid of offers and then walk off in a huff cos you wouldnt sell. We are talking pence here. Will you Take, Arh My favourite word, haha. NO B.... off, not really I never swear. What got to me was the unearthly hour you had to be there to be jumped on, as soon as you arrived with all the dealers etc. ANother thing that bugged me too, was people buying it and then taking it on their stall to sell. No Me and Boot Sales Departed Years Ago!!!

I had this years ago - we arrived a little bit late - big mistake! - and soon had a crowd around the car, practically unloading it for us. Then they seemed to be working together to 'talk down' all our stuff - presumably so they could get more money off. And my OH stupidly sold some of my things way too cheap - we came away with a tenner! Well, I suppose we had a couple of drinks out of it :p

Big spender Geoff! lol

re-Caitlyn.....

Yes saw a young couple of newbies being pounced on------so called dealers .....VULTURES!

No wonder Ebay is so popular......

I've done 3 boot sales....NEVER AGAIN! all that to-ing and fro-ing up and down the loft ladder, back breaking bending over sorting it all out, packing the car and getting up dawn's crack just for people to offer you 20 p for an item !!!!

Then you can't seem to get what's left back into the boot, even tho' you've sold some and end up taking it to charity shop

now I cut out the middle and go staright to the charity shop and save myself all the bother, it's not worth it to me, rather have a lie in on a Sunday !!

I went today with the kids (who really do love car boot sales) sam was very impressed that he got a box set of simpsons VIDEO'S (eeek dont even own a video player but im sure tony & jaq do ) for £1.70 and a collection of yugioh cards with a few ultra-rares in there for 50p (and the bloke then chucked in about a ton of footie cards for nothing). Maddy got some costume jewellery, an estee lauder handbag and a brandnew coat (with tags from woolies closing down sale) for the grand sum of £2....the kids ice creams cost more than the goodies that we bought.

I treated myself to some potatoes, asparagus & punnet of strawberrys for £2.50. We had a fun morning especially the kids :D

could have had a boxed set of simpsons from me + another video + the book-an illustrated guide to the simpsons....

how much £2-00

lol-I've probably been done eh?

p.s just thought of another wonderful customer.....

2 giant size rabbit water bottles-cost her 20p.......she then added a rabbit earthenware dish to her bottles......another 20p

and then she started fretting that there was no wire with the bottles to attach them to her hutch....

Reading this has helped me to decide on whether or not I try doing a car boot sale .............. I think I'll pass

Ebay, here I come!!

Hmmm..........Ebay - have some stuff of mine 'going off' tonight - a dress retailing at £150. plus which has no bids yet - I will be lucky to get £10 for it!! And then I've got to pay Ebay something of that!

The last time we did a car boot was quite a few years ago. We too were late getting there and everyone was crowding round the back of my car. That was until I opened the back passenger door and out jumped my very large GSD. For some strange reason everyone backed of and stood quietly waiting whilst I unpacked all the boxes and put everything on the table.

What they didn't know was that Beethoven was more likely to lick them to death han to bite them :D
