a quick question has anyone else on here had problems with thir bitches coming up to a season my bitch it nearly 12 mnth old and suddenly over last 2 days is very down in the dumps got a temperature and is moaping about looking real sorry for herself just wondered if anyone else had come across this i have taken her to vets to be on safe side he thinks its just beacause she is late having her first season and has put her on antibiotics and anti inflamitories am a bit worried about her so looking for info thanks

some whippets dont have a first season until or gone pass 2 years..my black bitch had her 1st approx 14mths where my other bitch had her first at 12 mths
I can only go by Gracie who had her first season at 11 months and her second 5 months later. She was no different just before either season and we had her spayed three months later. However, I have seen past posts were owners have noticed a marked change in behaviour or temperament. Assuming there is nothing medically wrong, I think it's down to the individual bitch.
