Ah...thank you ladies! And a nice day it's turning out to be! Lots of lovely cards, 3 precious letters from old friends and some flowers! Even Jacques - who was 3 yesterday by the way! - has been a good boy, enjoyed his walk and kissed a passing Labrador!!!

I love being here although would like to see more K9 people posting. Most times I log in there's over 100 viewers but little in the way of fresh correspondence. I'm sure as the days grow shorter and the nights longer, K9 folk will be at their PC's more though!

Thank you again for the kind wishes. Since 9/11 is has been hard to celebrate the day of my birth but with so many lovely people in my life, it would be wrong not to!

Well the day went really well. Jacques was a little overawed by the amount of visitors but coped well. We are adopting a "don't fuss the dog" policy when people visit, and it's working well. He has stopped jumping up and settles much more quickly.

I have noticed thta when my husband walks Jacques with me, the dog is much better. he doesn't pull or bark anywhere near as badly. When we are on our own, Jacques seems to think I need protecting. I need to teach him that i am in charge (in a nice way!) and that he can relax and enjoy our time out together. (I have my eye on a lovely cocker spaniel pup, so I will have to work twice as hard to get Jacques stable before that can happen!!) o
