i had the priveledge tonight of walking with baily's blue , took it onto the farm where i hunt, it really surprised me , just how fast these little dogs are , it was so fast , i could'nt believe it , but i saw it with my own eyes , having a discussion with the owner , i think we got a contender for vetran of the year ,. so look out you lot

Depends on all kinds, weight of dog, accuracy of timing etc etc. Best way to know how any dog is running is in company which is probably why folk haven't responded.
surely even you can see were having a laugh , just the fact the 9 year old is still trying to run , is testament to it's owner, trying to talk her into , getting it fit for the vetran racing , this bitch never ran for 5 years , but still holds the ability , look out for her, bailey's blue------------------micky mouse x blue goblin

It's not really an enlightement when we've read plenty of threads on here of dogs well into their veteran years still running. Maid For This is 9yrs old in March and she took her Veteran title at the last Bend Champs. Four Sale and Hellbent also doing the same as 8yr old scratch dogs. I'm not detracting anything to the dog or the owner and wish them well but it's just ignorant not to recognise the competition, especially when these dogs have had a lifetime of racing.

Which was another thing I was going to say. Goading the owner into racing her dog now without knowing whether her dog is indeed fit enough or whether the competiton will outclass her isn't fair on either the dog or their owner.

if she had ran until not to long ago fair enough just shes never seen a track for yerars and shes 10 coming up but as long as shes happy and well :thumbsup:
was'nt goading the owner one little bit, but having had running dogs which hunted well into there teens, may i assure you i know a thing or 2 about the capabilities of running dogs , your affore mentioned dogs running into their vetran years and still winning titles is testament to their owners , but , bailey's blue has'nt had know where near the miles on a track as those mentioned dogs , ability wise, baileys blue was a decent performer, so to think that she'd be OUTCLASSED well i think thats not the case, this little bitch was today , galloping behind a lure like the proverbial pup, clocking a time you would'nt believe for a nearing 10 year old.
