HI

Need some good vibes for Badger please....he went off his food a bit when we lost Woody last weekend and hasn't got his appetite back but yesterday he vomited a few times and today he at first wouldn't eat at all but then I found a small amount of food he would eat but he only kept it down for ten minutes..at which point it all came back up undigested.

He doesn't seem himself but nothing specific, just seems a bit flat and under the weather.

I took him to the vets this morning because I just didn't feel right about him.....his temperature is very slightly up but only enough for it to be attributed to being stressed while at the surgery.

The vet didn't feel he wanted to give him any antibiotics as he felt he was more likely to have irritation in his intestine (and antibiotics would make that irritation worse) due to the food returning as quickly as it did this morning....he gave Badger a thorough examination and wants me to see how he is for a week, we have Antepsin and Tagamet which are both antacid type drugs and he gave him an anti emetic injection to stop him being sick.

Badger is very quiet and seems depressed and seems to be breathing a little faster than normal.

so vibes please just in case.

Hi

Badger is still not himself at all but we are giving him another 24 hrs to see how he is otherwise I'm taking him back to the vets for some blood to be taken to see if there is something more serious going on.

Thanks for the good wishes..he does seem like he's a bit uncomfortable but its hard to tell exactly what is bothering him.

Bluebell was devastated when alfie died, she didn't eat properly, run, or play with her toys or other dogs for 6 weeks solid...until I took her on holiday believe it or not and that seemed to bring her back to her old self :) Good luck x

So sorry to hear the Badger is unwell, I hope all is OK and that he is fighting fit as soon as possible. Jasper has also been grieving for Blue but I must say the one thing he never went off was his food!!!! He just kept pacing and still does sometimes to the front door then the patio door in the vein hope she walks through.

I think there is a homeopathic remedy for grief called ignata or somthing similar.

In the rescue friends letter there is an ad for a lady who treats whippets homeopathicaly her name is

Miss Joanna Glyn B.S.Y.A qualified and insured homeopath 01844 292575 she is in Aylesbury Bucks but will do phone consultations.

I am sure somethng like this could help.

Hi

Badger has been to the vets again this evening and had a blood test. the results are a bit inconclusive...there is something going on but not sure exactly what...haemoglobin was high and amylase was high and Cholesterol was high but the vet was a bit unsure as to whether it meant much or not.....if lipase had been high as well as amylase this would be conclusive that he had pancreatitis but lipase was within the normal range... he has however been showing signs of discomfort and did seem a bit like Moonpig was when she had pancreatitis.

anyway he has pain relief and antibiotics for one week but if he is no better when they finish, then he has to go in and have x rays to see if there is something going on. he did have a temperature tonight though.

The only thing the vet was certain about is that he has a bad heart murmur BUT he didn't have it a few weeks ago when he was at the surgery.

At least its a bit more positive ...lets hope they get to the bottom of it... Good luck... :luck:
