Took Benji to the vets Thursday as i wasnt happy the way the cut was not healing which he received at Easington when he ran into the wall Vet said to take him back today as the cut was deeper than i had thought. Went to pick him up at 1 o clock the metal on the lure had nicked the tendon so it had to be repaired ai felt sick as ive been dressing the would myself vet said it wasnt my fault as it only looked like a 3/4 of an inch cut. He Has to be rested for a month no walking just on a lead to do his whatsits All the hard work Ive put into him this last few weeks is now wasted Helen his walker will be devastated. Im only to pleased i realilised the wound should of healed as i hate to think what would of happened if i had let him off the lead. :( :( Woody

I wouldn't blame yourself.

We did the same with Soapy Joe - it only looked like a small nick so I just cleaned it up myself. He was still lame 3-4 days latter so off to the vets who said the tendon was involved and 6 weeks off.

If you free run dogs they get cuts and scratches and most are easily dealt with but you learn some are more serious.

As long as you are not running them lame there is no need to dash off to the vet with every scratch.

:( Hi joyce sorry to here about the dog no luck whats so ever but still a baby plenty years ahead hope he mends quickly ;)

Thanks everyone for your concern. Yes he is only 16 months plenty of time for him . But sarga doesnt stop here kept in doors overnight so as i could keep an eye on him great everything fine had his breakfast the phone rings at 5 to 9 it was Terry from Bigges Main to say racing was cancelled i was only on phone for 3 min at most lLow and behold no stitches left in his leg another trip to the vets had to operate again just picked him up 15 min ago. this time they have covered the wound up thank god. at the moment hes lying on my bed fast asleep do you nthink hell stop there for 10 days haha. The lamp shade round his neck is nearly as big as he is hope this works Woody
