Baby Frogs

Took Muffin & Jonah out for a walk this afternoon and on the path there were what I thought at first were lots of flies buzzing about. But when I looked closer I realised that there were 100s of baby frogs hopping around. (w00t) It was really difficult trying to avoid stepping on them! I only had my phone with me so I was quite pleased at how these photos turned out.

The toe of my wellie gives you some idea of the size although I'm not 100% sure that these three were still alive.

we was in the same situation a couple of years ago at the reservior,they was everywhere i couldnt walk without squashing them,i ended up crouched helping them out of the way :lol: ,there so sweet little baby frogs :wub:

and im too soft :b

I don't think Muffin even saw them. o I think Jonah was trying to eat them but they moved too fast and were very hoppy! :lol: Can anyone tell me if they are frogs or toads? I'm not very good on the differences. :b

Usually as rule of thumb....frogs are very smooth and shiny ...toads are more dull and 'bumpy' or knobbly.... they look like likkle frogs to me.....there have been so many of them around this year suspect its all this wet weather - just perfect for them :cheers:

Don't quote me on it but I think toads walk whereas frogs hop/leap

Did this once - was carefully scooping them up and putting them in the lake as the ones on the path were geting trodden on or dried out in the sun. Then my dad pointed out the big fish in the lake that kept coming to the surface every time I threw a baby frog in...
