Australian Racing Muzzles for Small Whippets

:blink: Does anyone know if the Australian racing muzzle is only available in one size ? Our 20lb bitch's head is too small for the standard Australian muzzle, but we are finding the plastic coated, metal framed, muzzle is marking her head.

We would be pleased to hear if anyone knows of an outlet that can supply smaller Australian style muzzles. Thanks.

whats an australian muzzle? is it the plastic muzzle you get in different colours?

would the plastic box mikki muzzles be any good they go down to a very small size and are available at your vets . :wacko: :wacko:

Yes, that's right. They have a leather strap that goes under the chin and another one that fits behind the ears.....if that's any help!

Hi Mel are you in Australia? This is really weird, I race whippets in Victoria Australia & I've never seen any racing dog, (whippet or greyhound) wearing the type of muzzle you describe. Our racing whippets wear the same style as the greyhounds, it's like a very fine wire "cage" which allows them to open their mouths very wide. It has plastic coated wire over the nose & behind the head.

They come in several sizes but I too cannot get one small enough for my 20lb/9kg bitch.
