Everytime this comes on the BBC Misty always jumps up and starts barking. The first couple of times I thought it must just be a coincidence with something she can hear outside, but it doesn’t seem to be. The dog on the tv doesn’t bark or anything, but there must be something on there that she can hear.
Anyone else experienced this?

No. It always surprises me how our dog doesn't often seem to get upset at sounds on TV, be it loud noises, dogs, people, etc. Occasionally when there's the sound of birds on there, he'll pop his head up and look around, but that's it.

Ha ha that’s funny!

Dennis is the same as Jimmy. Pays no interest in the tv at all

Murphy will react to TV watching wildlife programmes is a gamble.. The sight of a bear caused a stand off long after we had changed channels and he does get interested in dogs barking or loud noises on screen. He also will sometimes growl at the red screens on BBC I think there is low background noise like mumbling.
Best response we ever saw was with Benny our old beagle, countryfile was doing a bit about foxhounds and Benny was sound asleep on the sofa as the hounds started to bay he stood bolt upright threw his little head back and joined in with full voice.. I must admit we enjoyed it so much we didnt stop him!

bax HATED tv and computer sounds. i had to desensitize him to it little by little on low volume. what finally sold him on it was meerkat manor. hated me but would let me hold him on my lap so he could watch his show.

Rox is a nightmare with the TV!!
Can't watch anything, any kind of animal or cartoon she barks at!
I know I need to train her out of it but that involves everyone else's input...easier said than done!!

Maybe its the theme tune she doesn't like??! Don't know the prog myself though.. One thing for sure is dogs are funny things at times:D

Jasper doesn't seem to notice what's on telly either. Apart from one time when there was a loud raspberry noise where he lifted his head and looked at his bum in astonishment.
I really did laugh out loud at that! :D:D:D

It’s just the bit they have on whilst announcing what’s on next, no music or anything

Hmmm... ok, just a 'special' dog then, like a few I know:D...

Our Rex has his spot on the couch and will watch TV for as long as it’s on!!! He loves Animal Planet, sea life is ok, herbivores are ok but he jumps off the couch and has a go at any carnivores!! Bearing in mind he weighs 3kg!! I couldn’t imagine an Alaskan Grizzly Bear run from him sometimes he even takes a biscuit, puts it in front of the TV then sits a little behind it as if daring any carnivore to try and eat it. When they move forward he scoops it up, eats it and then replaces it with another!! Poor Belle wonders what the hell is going on, she isn’t a TV watcher...lol...
Rex even has his most hated adverts, Getex Hoover ad with the collie, Churchill Insurance, Bakers Complete and Beagle Street Insurance. He can be in another room hear the music for the advert and is through in a flash!

Drift can recognise other dogs on computer laptops and screens and loves to come and see what they are doing. Maybe she (?) can see the dog? Or in a past life was a rescue dog :)

Since this week Murphy has come up with a new one. If we are in the bar or garden and dont hear the phone he starts to howl. He doesnt do it if we are in the house though.

Aren't dogs just a delight every day, we really don't deserve them. My last dog Sam would be glued to the screen when One Man and His Dog was one. He may have had some Border Collie genes. I think it was to do with the movement as he would stare intently when they were rounding up the sheep.
