Does anyone have any other animals living alongside their dog/s?

We used to have a rabbit called freckles and he fell in love with our black lab called Poppy. She was an old lady and when she could she would sunbathe in the garden... this is when freckles would take his smooth operating skills to high levels.... he would pull out clumps of his fur and make a nest on her!! he was so full of character!

Aww, I thought you were going to say that Freckles pulled out clumps of Poppy's fur to make a nest!

We have a Birman cat, Monty, who will be 20 in February. He was 12 when Jasper arrived and though from J's point of view it was love at first sight, Monty was not impressed. It was harder to stop J chasing M than I expected, and M never stood up to J. If he does manage to corner M, J will be gentle, but M doesn't understand that J wrapping his jaws gently round his body is meant to be friendly, and it only takes a gust of air to knock M off his feet nowadays, never mind a 'gentle' lurcher clodhopper on his back:eek:

Still, M has his own refuge in the bathroom and walk-in (for me; crawl-in for people of average height;)) airing cupboard and gets lots of fuss and attention whenever I go to the loo:)

5 Cockers and 1 magpie.

A busy household! Tell me more about the Magpie! :) ...... Oh you can't forget the husband! he he

I don't personally but some of the dogs that I walk have cats. I've been told that they tolerate each other :) Though they go nuts when they see cats outside. Maybe it is possible for them to get used to another animal in the right circumstances.

I have 3 aquariums my largest is my fav it has my elephant nose fish in it love these guy's! My hubby has 4 pet rat's which we keep in a separate room from my whippets lol.

@Whippylove an elephant nose fish sounds very intriguing! what do they look like?

aw I used to have a rat called Betty. My mum was absolutely horrified when I turned up with her at home. I had a tendency to turn up with unwanted animals when I was younger!

Lol cute! Really like the name :)
Ours like to grab your feet if you don't have any shoes on it doesn't hurt thank goodness! They're actually entertaining when they are out of the cage playing always doing something they shouldn't.

yes they are funny! My friend had 4 rats and when she let them out the cage they always used to head straight to a picture of her and her boyfriend, take it off the wall and then take it back into their cage :D:D:D every time!

Thats cute! Until they probably wanted to chew it  Ours have chewed through my boots and my hubbys boots. So now when he says they're coming out to play out comes everything i dont want chewed!

Well,... two cats called Horst and Rita, an 18 years old iguana, a bearded dragon, a male chameleon, some insects and a pond full of koi carps.
