Hi, normally with only 4 weeks to go to my daughters birthday I'm well organised, treats bought and invites ready to go out.

This year we need some helful suggestions, in the past we've had

garden parties

fairy party

clown entertainers

magicians

sports hall events

ten pin bowling

Bratz makeover party

pirate themed fancy dress with bouncy castle

swimming pool party.......

I've been looking at the rock climbing in an old church in Liverpool ( Awesome walls climbing centre ) but not sure all 15 girls would relish the thought of climbing up a rock face (I know I couldn't have done it !)

We're not into the stretch limo scene just yet :b

every year I say 'shall we have an easy one this year ? ie cinema and McDonalds', but I love seeing her face and all her friends enjoying something with a bit of effort behind it

although the rock climbing with food in their hall will be easier on me, since I've just been in hospital and am supposed to be 'resting' -_-

Any useful ideas will be very gratefully received

Go Carting? Pony riding?

ummmmmmmmmmmmmm

Theatre tickets? you can get a box for not too much for her and a few friends, they could go posh and have dinner before or after?

have you a lazer quest or paint balling

What a lucky girl!

If I can think of anything will post later.....

Thanks, just been looking at local theatre shows....nothing suitable on at the time of birthday

investigated paintballing last year but after hearing about a group of friends who did it and how bruised they were following it I don't think their parents will thank me ! ( I know...wimpy aren't I !)

By the 11 th birthday I felt they'd be old enough for a 'safe' much wanted, bouncy castle strictly supervised re- numbers on at once..........

guess who spent 4 hours in A&E that night with someone with a suspected fractured neck ? the someone was my O.H. :b

imagine what he could do in a paintball event

at the inflatables in the pool party last year I gave him the duty of 'checking for kids under the inflatables' but they had 4 lifeguards and the inflatable was long but only about 6 ft wide (can't get out of my health & safety mode :p )

I like the safe girly things like the build a bear party we did at Guides, at least in rock climbing they're tied on !

well go for glitter balls and disco night girls love dressing up and rading mums stuff. it wasnt my idea I just asked alexs shes nearly 15 what girls like

What about the dry ski slope in Runcorn - my son and his mates did this for his 13th last year and they loved it. You could take a picnic there or go to a pub/ restaurant or go home for food. Or if you want to push the boat out, what about Chill Factor in Manchester - they do snow tubing as well as skiing and boarding and it's pretty cheap to hire the gear. The theatre tickets suggestion was good or what about seeing if you could get a dance teacher to do a street dancing lesson - there's a few dance studios in and around Liverpool.

Hope this helps - not much experience of girl parties cos I've got two boys. :)

hiring a studio and recording a song

I too was going to suggest chill factor, not been there yet but it looks fab. Another I thought of was Ice Skating?

we've always looked at chill factor on our way to the Trafford centre, ;) I'll see how much it is, only problem is that with more than 10 guests and 3 mums who don't drive getting there may be difficult, mind you, by then I should be driving again

sounds like a good idea

what about go ape (but will tree climbing be a 13yr olds thing lol), the zoo (only cos i still love the zoo at 35) and chill factor/snowdome (tamworth)

she's been on Go Ape twice, in Delamere Forest and definately has her dad's genes for heights  plus I think some of her friends would believe that was pure torture (the ones like me! :b )

well recommended to anyone who has the nerve tho' (and dogs get a nice afternoon walk too )

I think it's looking good for Awesome Walls , parents can drop off their own and collect AND they've got a room you have for party food after (they brush up for you since you only have it for 1/2 an hour)

we can make 'rock buns' for party food and a big mountain shaped chocolate covered cake, won't matter if it's lumpy :p , with coloured Smarties for the hand/foot holds with an icing model climbing to the top resembling the birthday girl !

Great I've got a plan to be organising for.

Next year we'll do the Chillfactor when I'm fitter than I'll have ever been in my life.

Gotta say my 2 faves from the past were the Pirate fancydress party (except for the trauma of O.H in A&E :b ) with the pirates chest pinata and treasure hunt, the fun we had with the clues in old fashioned pirate type script on teabag stained ripped edge paper !

and the Bratz Makeover, it would've been too expensive to get a company in, so we had 12 party guests and 12 activities, I timed the longest (hair up do - 6 minutes) and with the help of good friends I kept a close eye on my watch and every 6 minutes got the girls to change stations for the next activity on their individual invite card with their plan of beauty treatments, turn on the dance mat, design a Bratz outfit competition etc

What am I going to do when Sophie flys the nest ?!!!!

For anyone who'd like to have a build a bear type of party @ home, Brownies/Guides I can well recommend the on-line order company called 'Bemybear' very good quality animals , choose your own outfits/accessories , come with birth certificates and take-home bags.

The ladies are very helpful, you just create your own invitation and ask the guests to let you know their choice beforehand then put a big order in, we made ours into a bears picnic.
