Adopted a 2 and a half year old frenchie

So one week on our frenchie cries and howls and barks throughout the night. We are crating her and she loves the crate during the day but will cry and bark and howls on and off throughout the night. We don't go in to her so she does settle for a bit but it's starting to annoy the neighbours and I don't want them complaining as they are old and tetchy how can I get my adorable frenchie to stop this behaviour?

does she get an night time walk? if not add one to your routine she could be too hyper and wants to burn off energy so howls.... where is the crate based (in the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom?)
