I just thought the people of the non whippet community would like to know that alice tate died this morning after her long fight against cancer many of you knew alice and her hubband micky when they were running rch sailor and rch morrag they also had mousie a couple of years ago she was a lovely woman R.I.P ALICE

It was only when i read in whippet news the other month that i knew Alice was ill, she was a lovely women, i can remember my grandad enquiring about using Sailor at stud at an open at Lancaster when he was about three and her telling us that they thought he was sterile, a few weeks later Mickey and Alice came up to us and said that if we were prepared to have tests on Sailor to see if he would father pups then we could have him to race, at this point an alternative stud dog had already been chosen, but i thought what a lovely gesture!!! (and still think 'i wonder if') i think Bruce Bellwood tried to use him once and nothing was produced.

I know that salior would have never produced any pups as he had nothing hanging below he was tryed a couple of times with local bitchs he would manage but nothing ever came of it. Alice was a really lovely woman a couple of years ago she and micky gave gary a pup out of morrag and pidgion (hocus pocus) she was quite a good puppy but hurt her self just as she got into adults, so we lined her to micky mouse and got a 14lb bitch that we let go to pet home also micky mac whos now with friends at horden called jackie and dennis there just started racing

Mrs O had Mickey Mac then did you and Gary race him for her. I thought Evelyn was on the mend now. Has she still got the black dog out of Free. If you still see her tell her Susan and John were asking for her.

when mrs o went in for her oparation at the begining of the year she was worryed about her dogs my theripist took micky roony and free wheeler we took micky mac for 6 months also micky mouse for 10days she got brubell boy and free wheel prt homes. we took micky mac to race as we had him from a pup till he was 8 month then mrs o got him, but just after august champs she got him back and he would not settle for her, so he came back again  was going mad when bitchs came in season so we let a couple of friend have him hes settled lovely funny this whippets. when mrs o rings ill let her know your asking after her or you could just give her a ring im sure shed love to hear form you .denise!!!!
