A Second Pup

Hi

I have a whippet pup , who is now 16weeks old.I really long to get another but was wondering when is the best time to do this.

Mine is very lively at the mo and i thought that maybe it would be best to wait till he was a little older.After reading up it seems that if you get another pup to soon after the first, the second bonds more with the other rather than with the family.It says around 9 months is best.Anyone beg to differ or have any other have any views on this ? id be grateful for any info.

JMHO but eveybody has their own different needs, reasons and opinions as to when is the best time to add a second pup into the family. To me the best time is always when you feel you are ready to cope with the all the fun and (ocassional) frustrations a puppy can bring you.

i rehomed a very calm five year old dog hoping he would influence my 5 month old pup....didnt work!!! (w00t) ....they are great friends :huggles: but now they are both mad! :thumbsup: best thing i ever did though!

I have a 10 month and just got a 8wk old.... :teehee: :blink:

 

IMO, a 16wk + another small pup = lots and lots of time, :- "
